About Us
Youth Legacy, a program by PMAST, is dedicated to empowering at-risk youth and their families by providing essential skills, resources, and mentorship to help them overcome challenges, reintegrate into their communities, and thrive. Piloted in Airdrie, the program collaborates with local services to create a virtual "village" of support, offering a holistic approach to personal growth and conflict resolution.
Through tailored programs, youth explore conflict management, communication, and leadership while families receive tools to foster healthier relationships. Participants gain life-changing mentorship and access to resources addressing addiction, mental and emotional health, workplace readiness, and more. At Youth Legacy, we believe in turning struggle into success, creating brighter futures for Alberta's youth.

Our Process
We begin by assessing the needs of at-risk youth and their families through an intake session. Our processes are designed to meet each individual where they are, ensuring that our support is as effective and personalized as possible.
-
Intake Assessment: We begin each journey with a comprehensive intake session that evaluates the needs of the youth and family, helping us understand where support is most needed.
-
Personalized Support Plan: Based on the intake assessment, we create a personalized support plan tailored to each youth and family's unique needs. This process involves analyzing the data collected during the intake session, designing a customized plan that addresses specific challenges, and connecting them with the appropriate experts and services within the Youth Legacy Village.
-
Communication: We offer training to help youth understand their internal messaging, empowering them to develop healthier communication skills. Using principles from The Brain Story, we teach techniques for recognizing and managing emotions and responses, fostering effective communication that strengthens relationships and supports conflict resolution.
-
Expert Partnerships: Youth Legacy partners with a diverse network of experts—including conflict communication specialists, mental health practitioners, and cultural leaders—to provide holistic support. We collaborate closely with these professionals, refer youth and families to specialized services when needed, and continuously expand our network to meet the evolving needs of those we serve.
-
Follow-up and Continued Care: We provide follow-up and continued care to ensure each youth receives ongoing support for their growth and development. This includes regular check-ins to monitor progress, offering additional resources or mentorship as needed, and adjusting support plans to address new challenges. Through consistent communication, we help foster long-term success and personal development.
