Blue Friday is an all day school-wide and community event which brings together more than 50 interactive speakers and volunteers who seek to build knowledge and awareness on how to reduce bullying and conflict. In addition, the event promotes resiliency, accountability and leadership. By providing these important life skills, we can help students become better citizens as they transition into adulthood.

“Changing our community one school at a time”.

Blue Friday 2016 – November 18 & 25, 2016

Theme: “Coping with Change”

Many of you experience changes in your lifetime. Change happens when you first started school, moving on to Junior High, Senior high and to college or University or as other opportunities arises. As we grow older, most of us find that we change jobs, where we choose to live next, who we want to live with, seeking our life purpose. We experienced new environments, new friends and new beginnings. We experience change most times willingly by choice and many times unwilling due to unexpected circumstances. We had changes with how we look at information, time and freedom.

As we are faced with changes in our physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual world, we can take many directions to cope with this encounter. We can choose to move forward saddled with regrets and past hurts or we can choose to move on with honour, strength, resiliency recognizing the gift within us that can be discovered in times of hardship when we faced with our inner self. So welcome these changes into your lives, check out the lessons to be learned and make a difference in your own life and others.

“Honour the sprouts of change in your life and they will exponentially being to grow. Celebrate the sprouts.” Mary Morrissey

“We must be the change we want to see in this world.” M. Ghandi

BLUE FRIDAY CONFERENCE – November 20, 2015
2015 THEME: “New Beginnings”

As we go through life and learn new things, we try to always do the best we can based on our experiences and knowledge in that moment in time. We hold onto our values, perceptions and best intentions, until the day we realize that these values and perceptions do not serve us they had in the past. We become open to growing with both experiences of the past and information in the present, to gain confidence and grace with new beginnings.

In short, we face the challenges, explore the possibilities and embrace the beauty of new beginnings.

“The best endings are the ones that lead to new beginnings.”
–Mathangi Subramanian
